Do I need a website?
This may seem a bit of a biased answer as I am providing a service creating websites. However, my personal opinion is that a website is a necessity for any business. As a driver, one of your most important quests is to promote yourself to potential sponsors and fans. A website is an essential tool to help you get that accomplished.

How often should I update my website?
Information updates should be done on an as needed, frequent basis. Changes in your race schedule, updates to your photo gallery, and race results are a few examples of information that will need regular updates. A major update in overall design and structure to your website should be done annually with each new race season.

I already have a website, what can you do for me?
If it has been more than a year since you created or updated your website design, then you are past due. With the majority of your information already in place, a new website design can be put in place much quicker. You may also find that the features I include in a race team website may be lacking in your current site.

How much will it cost?
I run a flat rate for drivers/owners looking to get their annual update or new website off the ground. Project cost is just $500 (prices subject to change), with the requirements that the Website by Drew logo be displayed on your website, car, and other promotional gear such as T-shirts.

Why is your cost so cheap?
The average cost of a new, unique website is substantially higher than the cost charged to you. This is accomplished primarily by two things. One, after putting websites together for drivers for six years, I understand that the money you gain via sponsorship needs to go to your car, equipment, and tools. Instead of charging a large sum of money, I consider the majority of the overall cost to be a sponsorship of your car/team. This is why there are requirements to display the Website by Drew logo. And two, new features can be used on all of my drivers' websites, therefore the cost of development of the new feature is spread out.

Ok, I know your cost, but are there other costs I should be aware of?
There are two other main costs associated with having a website. If you already have a website, then you are probably already aware of those costs. If this is all new to you, then let's break it down. One, your domain name. This is an annual cost which varies between registrars and can run between $1.99 and $35.00 per year. Two, hosting costs, which are usually billed monthly and can average between free and $20 per month. Hosting can sometimes be renewed annually for a cheaper monthly cost, as long as it is paid up front.

What is a domain name and why do I need one?
A domain name is the unique identifier used to locate a particular site on the internet, often referred to as an address. For example, websitebydrew.com is the domain name of this website. You will need a domain name for your website so people will know how to find your site on the internet.

What is hosting?
Website hosting is necessary to provide a place to put the files that make up your website. If the domain name is the address of your website, you can think of hosting as your website's house.

I am not a racecar driver/owner, will you still do my website?
While I have a priority for racecar drivers/owners, I am also accepting other new clients. If you are a person, business, or organization looking for a website designer or administrator, look no further.

Have you done any websites not showcased on this site?
I have been involved with website development since 1997, and have had the opportunity to progress with the web. I have been fortunate enough to work with all types of businesses and help them bring their presence to the web. You can check out my "Portfolio in Progress" site at portfolio.websitebydrew.com.
